according to Anthonis Mor (1520-1577), Picture, approx. 35 x 45 cm, 30 colours, 9 stitches/1 cm, Gobelin with petit-point-section
Anthonis Mor was born around 1520 in Utrecht. Between 1576 and 1577 he died in Antwerp. He is also known as Antonio Moro.
It is assumed that he was a student of Jan van Scorel. Moro's great art can be seen in his very precisely painted life-size portraits and half-portraits.
It is said that he was the court painter of the European metropolises at that time. His painting "Duchess Margaret of Parma" was used as a reference.
