Moritz von Schwind was born in Vienna and died in Munich. His works, romantic paintings mixed with Biedermeier features, covered the entire range of religious, mythical, literary and poetic material. Today Schwind is considered the most important fairy-tale painter and illustrator of literary texts. His painting "Honeymoon" (Schack Galerie, Frankfurt/M.), created in 1867, was taken from a collection of paintings inspired by Beethoven's "Fantasy for Choir and Orchestra".
