The legend of the "Tusset Madonna" goes back to the 30-year war. In the Bohemian Forest near the "Schanzen am goldenen Steig" there was a wayside shrine which was in danger of being destroyed by acts of war. A man named Wenzel hid this picture in the wild stone gorge of the Tusset mountain. In 1791 the blind Jakob Klausner dreamt three times in a row of a picture of the Virgin Mary, which was considered lost. He set out, searched and found this picture in the Tusset Forest; when he washed his eyes in the nearby spring, he regained his sight. In 1794, in gratitude for this, he built the Tusset Chapel in wood, an old Tusset Chapel located on the site of the former CSSR, which is becoming increasingly dilapidated and the paths leading to it have now been reclaimed by nature. For this reason, the decision was made to build a new chapel in Philipsreut, in which the image of the "Tusset Madonna", which was saved with great effort, will find a new home in the future.
